The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has once again proven its dominance in university sports at the 2nd Minor Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games and the 28th Inter-University Cross Country Competition, hosted by the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), Somanya.
Out of nine trophies up for contention, KNUST has already secured five, with two major events still to be decided the 10km Cross Country and the 2.5km Cross Country Relay.
KNUST emerged Champions in Scrabble (Men and Women), Champions in Chess (Men and Women), and Defending Champions in Tug of War (Men).
The victories mark a clean sweep in all mind game categories and a resounding demonstration of physical strength and teamwork in the Tug of War contest, where KNUST overpowered every competing university with straight wins.
With only three trophies left for grabs, KNUST is poised to extend its lead. The university is currently waiting for results in the 10km Cross Country and the 2.5km Cross Country Relay, where hopes are high for another victory.
